Banging Black Beans

These smokey black beans are SO good & SO simple, big on flavour and goodness. I always make a batch to pop some in freezer. Tuck into tacos, roll into burrito's, pile into pittas, rice bowls or top onto a crispy baked potato!



What you will need:

2 to 3 onions (red or white) peeled and chopped

3 cloves of garlic finely chopped

2 tins of black beans drained and rinsed

1 tin of tomatoes

A squeeze of tomato puree

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp ground cumin

Olive oil

Salt & pepper


Let's cook:
  1. Drizzle a tbsp of olive oil in a pan and pop on a medium heat.

  2. Add in your onions and garlic and let soften for a few minutes.

  3. In goes your spices and stir so you have quite a dry mixture.

  4. Add the rest of your ingredients, stir together.

  5. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  6. Let them cook for 15 mins.

  7. Have a taste - Your beans are now ready.


Top tip - Double the recipe if you want a batch for the freezer... !!
